Dreams

Every little girl has dreams, wanting to be something significant when they are older.

Whether it be a dancer or an actress, or a singer, every girl wants to be something.

Maybe as we grow older our dreams change, but they might also stay the same.

When I was little - get this - I wanted to be a waitress. Needless to say, my dreams have changed quite a bit. I still don't fully know what I want to do with my life, other than the fact that I know has God has plans for me and I need to follow Him on all of them.

Maybe you know exactly what God's plans are for you. Exactly what He wants you to do with your life - where he wants you to be. That's great.

Other people might not know a thing about the life they are going to live whenever they're out of school, out of their parents' house, out in the world. But either way, God's plans for you are amazing.

One of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. If ever we want truth that God has a plan for our lives - I know that I wonder about this all the time - all we have to do is go to this verse:
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

So whether or not you know what "plans" he has for you, be ready for them when they do come, because they're going to. Doesn't this verse explain that?

To sum this all up, I have only one more thing to say:

Follow your dreams...but only if you're sure that God is the one who gave them to you. Because if He is, your plans are going to go way beyond what you ever dreamed.

אורלי

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.  ~Anthony J. D'Angelo

אורל.

Orli.

"I have light."

There is something so completely profound about those three simple words; for to be a bearer of light in this swiftly darkening world is the most beautiful of callings.

It is not easy to be a light-bearer in this world of lies and deception. As young women, we are taught that our bodies must look a certain way, our attitudes must be conceited and promiscuous if we wish to gain any attention, and our clothing must be tight and revealing to even be worthy of a second glance.

I, for one, am tired of the lies.

This is the Truth:

I am beautiful when I dress out of respect for myself, for the men in my life, and for the King whose name I bear.

I am strong when I stand against the lies the world spreads at my feet and behave in a manner deserving of the title of Daughter of the King.

I am powerful when I display humility and a tender heart instead of seeking after my own selfish desires and goals.

I am loved by the King of Kings, chosen by His own hand as His beloved Daughter. He loves me for who I am on the inside -- He sees my heart and knows I am beautiful.

I am His. I am beautiful. I am strong. I am light.

I am Orli.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. ~1 Peter 2:9
